Would you like an experienced photographer and guide to help you capture images in the national forest and wilderness surrounding Ely, Minnesota?

We are offering photo excursion packages for groups no larger than three. Spend one or more days with Steve as he guides you to some of the best locations for boundary waters images. Many of these locations are where Steve has captured the images on this Web site.

Rates are $200 per day per person in 2008 (rates will increase to $250 per day per person in 2009), with clients providing their own equipment and meals, and Steve providing transportation for the excursion and the key one-on-one attention afforded through small groups. During these trips, you, the client, are the focus, and we will work hard to ensure you get the images you want, be they flowers, butterflies, landscape images or images of animals.

The year is 365 days long, and the beauty of the landscpape around Ely has neither beginning nor end, so these excursions are not limited by the season. Steve has spent many days shooting from snowshoes in temperatures to -35º. Winter shoots offer fewer options, generally, and require a stiffer constitution, but contain a beauty all their own. Key seasons include orchids and other wildflowers in early June, butterflies on wildflowers later in the summer, vivid autumn color starting in September and running through early October, and virgin snowcapes all winter long.

Whether you are a photo novice who wants lessons in photography or an experienced shooter who needs access to good locations, we will accommodate your needs.

Photo excursions make great gifts, and many of our clients have purchased excursions for their friends and family. So we offer gift cards you can purchase and put in your loved one’s Christmas stocking or present as a birthday present.

We will also make recommendations for lodging and dining, and will provide services for digital photographers who do not have laptops or other portable devices to back up their work. After the day's shoot, leave your memory cards with us and we'll download them and make CD backups at our office and return the materials the next morning.
